I have questions, but I don’t want to bother the bride or the groom. Who should I talk to?
You may contact our planner Sonal Shah: sonal@sjsevents.com if you have any questions related to travel or accommodations. For anything else, feel free to email us at melanieandneeraj@gmail.com or call/text us personally.
Wait, so accommodations are arranged for Friday and Saturday?
Yes, all hotel stays, airport transfers, and ground transportation for Friday and Saturday have been arranged for stays at the Amanyara or the Gansevoort.
Which hotel will I be staying at?
Once we receive your RSVP we will be in touch as soon as possible to let you know. Both resorts are absolutely beautiful.
What if I want to come earlier or stay later?
Should you wish to arrive early or extend your visit to the island, please email our planner Sonal Shah: sonal@sjsevents.com and we can provide booking information, including special wedding rates. Booking must be completed directly with the resort for the wedding rate, so let us know and we'll get you sorted out!
May I bring my kids with me to the wedding?
While we would absolutely LOVE to celebrate this occasion with your whole family, we are sadly not able to accommodate children due to strict space restrictions. If you have any questions please email us at melanieandneeraj@gmail.com.
May I bring a guest?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate any extra attendees unless specified on your wedding invitation. If you have any questions about this do not hesitate to ask! Please email us at melanieandneeraj@gmail.com.
Is the wedding itself on the beach? Do I wear sandals? What footwear do I wear?
The wedding itself will be held on a decked area overlooking the ocean. All event spaces are indoor to outdoor with smooth surfaces below, although a few pathways in transit to the events are on terrain. Ladies, you will be fine wearing heels/stilettos, but wedges or flats would be a safer choice.
What does island cocktail / indian festive attire mean for Friday’s Bollywood Soiree?
You can choose whether you’d like to do Indian or Western attire, just be fun and colorful!
- Men: Slacks and a light button down shirt (no ties or jackets required) or a kurta-pajama. No flip flops please.
- Women: A colorful, summery dress or a light lengha choli, sari, or salwar kameez are all great choices.
What does “island formal” attire mean for Saturday’s events?
Anything you'd wear to an upscale restaurant on a summer evening is appropriate. Again, feel free to go Indian or Western.
- Men: A summer or linen suit. For the Indian attire, think a more dressed up kurta pajama set.
- Women: A formal summer sundress, maxi dress, or gown in soft colors. For Indian attire - a lengha choli, sari, anarkali, or salwar kameez.
I don’t own any Indian clothes but would like to wear some. Where can I get them?
Our friends at Exclusively.in can help! Please visit www.exclusively.in to see a selection of attire you can order online! They are updating their inventory for the wedding so you should be able to find some great options. Note: Orders generally require 4 weeks from order to delivery, so order well ahead of time!
Is there a gift registry?
Your presence at the event is the best gift we can ask for.
Shall you insist on giving, we would appreciate you considering making a contribution to the non-profits special to us listed on the Registry Page.
